Ok, it might not be the travel that has improved it, but being stuck on a plane for 12 hours certainly allows time to focus. Recently I wrote about mates being awesome, and the best thing about joining the Fire Service is the camaraderie that comes with it. Honestly, I have never been involved in anything that has such a strong sense of community, and that holds the value of "having each other's back" so highly. Your brand, either commercially is the some of all your parts. The way you look, the way you sound, what you do and how people perceive you. The fact that Brand is not just about a "logo" is hard for many people to understand, here I attempt to use the fire service as an example of how brands develop and live or die beyond just there name. Ok, I don't condone violence at all and especially physical discipline of children but I found this video exceptionally funny. Ironically I was at a friends the other day watching the Pacific Island awards on TV and commented that although I found the humour funny I also found it sad that so much of their identity when it came to humour was around crime and violence. I'm of two minds as to whether this is a good thing, as it keeps it out there to discuss or sad as it confuses children regarding their role models and culture.
