Wordpress Plugins

Listed below are the Wordpress plugins I have developed.

We use wordpress extensively and over the last few months have written a number of plugins to add functionality, but avoid editting the various themes we use. Below we share them with you. Please make best use of them, and give feedback where you can. For assistance please visit our forums.

SU.PR Publisher Wordpress Plugin

Probably my most exciting plugin from a traffic building perspective. Once you publish a post this plugin automatically publishes your post to the Stumbleupon Directory and then if required (via the SU.PR service) then sends a tweet to twitter and an update to Facebook. I have introduced the SU.PR Stumbleupon and WordpPress Plugin (including Twitter and Facebook) in this post. And introduced how to use it on Vimeo here.

Category Intro For Post

Add a category introduction on each post page. Often there is a need to add to a post a generic introduction to the post category, but themes seldom allow for this. Using this plugin you can format some HTML to do this, even gathering the category description, and inserting this into the post header before the content.

Category Intro For Archive

Add a category introduction on each category archive. Often there is a need to add to a generic introduction to the category at the top of an archive, but themes seldom allow for this. Using this plugin you can format some HTML to do this, even gathering the category description, and inserting this into the archive header at your desired location.

Author Intro For Archive

Add an Author introduction on each Archive page. Often there is a need to add to an Archive a generic introduction to the Author, but themes seldom allow for this. Using this plugin you can format some HTML to do this, even gathering the Author Bio, and inserting this into the Archive header before the content.

Author Intro For Post

Add an author introduction on each post. Often there is a need to add to a generic introduction for the author at the top of a post, but themes seldom allow for this. Using this plugin you can format some HTML to do this, even gathering the author bio and gravatar image, and inserting this into the post at your desired location.

Thumb Finder

Many Wordpress themes, are heavily dependant on “feature images” to make them look good. This is great except it adds a lot of extra work setting up these thumb references, but equally if you are in a hurry and forget you add the thumb then the theme breaks.

So here is the Find Thumb plugin. It is very easy to use. It’s purpose is to replace the Image functions from your theme with one we hope is a lot more clever. With the functions available you can do everything from a randomly select an image, return the URL or to return the image for a specific item and catalogue.
