WordPress 2.7 Image Upload Issue

WordPress 2.7 Image Upload Issue from Stephen Baugh on Vimeo.

This is a short demo of the image upload issue we have had with WordPress since upgrading to 2.7.

As lots of people are describing this problem differently, we thought we would create this so that people can see the issue exactly as it shows up for us.

Basically we tracked the issue down to the commentluv plugin, and this is so the developers can see what happens. Love the pluggin so this isn’t meant as a “slap”, just a headsup. Thanks guys.

I tried to replicate the problem on my machine and commentluv and image uploading worked fine for me.
I can’t see what would cause this as commentluv on hooks into the comment save process and uses no scripts for admin functions at all.

did you download the plugin from the codex or direct from somewhere else? if somewhere else, be aware that there are many sites that host modified versions of plugins which contain backdoor code to allow someone to get into your site.

try downloading the latest version 2.6.3 from the codex and see if the issue repeats.

@Andy Bailey

Hi. Thanks so much for visiting and commenting on my post. I have tested previously, but to today did so by downloading a fresh install of Comment Luv and Wordpress from the Wordpress website.

Unfortunately the problem persists. As I said previously, I don’t think it is your pluggin alone but a combination of. The issue remains though, if I turn it off the image uploader works, if I turn it on, it doesn’t.

The video is just meant to be a headsup.

Cheers, and thanks again … Stephen

Are you sure it is commentluv related? I had a problem with image uploads on one of my sites and the problem was mod security settings on the server. Disabled mod security for the affected site and all was fine.

I can’t say that I’ve come across this problem on any of my 2.7 blogs and I have dozens of them. Any idea what was the root cause of the problem?!

Nice blog. :D And thanks for using commentluv. I am still not sure why I am told to comment on blogs with commentluv though. lol

Very nice information. Thanks for this. By the way, did you create this layout yourself?

Very well written post however, I would recommend that you turn the No Follow off in your comment section.

Keep up the good work.
